Rejoice and Remember: Piano Music for All Seasons (CD)
by Jan Kraybill
“Warm,” “personable,” and “inspiring” are words that describe not only the music but the artist as well. Jan Kraybill brings to life the spirit of music such as “Holy, Holy, Holy”; “Morning Has Broken”; “Every Time I Feel the Spirit”; “O Come, O Come Emmanuel”; and many more. All of the tracks are piano arrangements of hymns and spirituals, for all seasons of the year. Included is the arrangement of “I Need Thee Every Hour” that Kraybill played for Community of Christ President Veazey’s ordination in June 2005. Many of these tracks are the most requested arrangements that she’s played for reunions and worship services over the years.
Jan Kraybill earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in music education and piano performance from Kansas State University, and a doctorate in organ performance from the Conservatory of Music, University of Missouri–Kansas City. Kraybill performs regularly as an organist, pianist, and harpsichordist, and has appeared as a recitalist and lecturer at regional and national musicians’ conventions in the United States and Canada. She has performed in Russia and Poland and has undertaken multiple tours of England, Ireland, and Wales, presenting recitals on historic organs including at St. Paul’s Cathedral in London.
