Terms of Use
TERMS OF USE: The following Terms of Use apply to use of the website located at (the "Site"). The Site is the property of Herald Publishing House, a non-profit 501(c)(3) and a public charity 509(a)(3), also doing business as Independence Press. By ordering from the Site, you are indicating that you have, read, understand and agree to the terms of use. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not order from the Site. DOWNLOADABLE PDF FILES: Any and all PDF files downloaded from this website are copyright Herald Publishing House, and by downloading you accept a one-time non-transferrable license forbidding further duplication or dissemination of the copyrighted file.


A. Upon your purchase of such product you may:
1. Not make copies of the file(s) (or screen shots, images and text contained within) for sharing with or distributing to other individuals, groups or organizations.  This license is only granted to the person or entity purchasing this product. 
2. Download the file(s) to the hard drive of one primary computer and one backup computer.
3. Display the content as part of a presentation if the presentation falls within the permitted uses (see below).

B. Your license to use the digital file(s) contained on the medium is limited to the following purposes:
1. Religious use (including, but not limited to, use of this product in worship services, Christian education, small groups, and related ministries and mission)

Orders for Delivery Outside the United States and Canada
With the exception of e-Herald subscriptions, orders for delivery to locations outside the United States and Canada will not be processed from this Web site. If your order is to be shipped to an APO or FPO address, please call or email us with your order.

Prices are listed in U.S. currency. Prices will fluctuate with variations in the currency of your local country and the U.S. exchange rate on the dollar. Special items may involve added cost due to import duty.

Shipping and Handling
United States shipping and handling is based on the total dollar amount of order before taxes:
  • 0 - $35.00: $9.00
  • $35.01 - $199.99: 20% of the order total
  • $200 and over: Actual shipping plus $15.00 handling fee
For even faster service on any size order, choose overnight, two-day, or other special shipping arrangements and pay actual shipping charge plus a $10.00 handling fee.

Missouri residents add 7.725% sales tax.

Shipping Time
For orders being shipped to locations in the United States, please allow at least two weeks for delivery. Rush (expedited) orders by phone only! Call 1-800-767-8181 between the hours of 8:00a.m. and 1:00p.m. US Central Time. For deliveries to other locations, please contact Herald House Customer Service at or (816) 521-3015 for shipping information.


All orders are reviewed by customer service and customers who qualify for discounts will have their discounts applied when their order is processed. If contacting customer service by phone, fax, or e-mail, please use your account number when ordering.

Return Policy
General Policy – All Returns other than Videos

Customer’s Responsibility:

  • Contact Customer Service within 30 days of receipt to report items damaged in shipment.
  • Contact Customer Service before returning unwanted or overstocked items to obtain permission to return.

  • Accepted up to 12 months from date of invoice, with prior return authorization.
  • Must include the following information to ensure proper credit: ISBN, title, invoice number, and invoice date. The purchase order number is also helpful, but not required.
  • Must be in like-new condition (for example: no blemishes, stickers or labels, no markings or indentations; no bent edges, pages, or spines; no moisture damage).
  • Items returned that are not in like-new condition may be returned to the customer at the customer’s expense.
  • Will accept active titles only; out of print items are not returnable.
  • Exceptions to this policy may be made at the publishing house’s discretion and a restocking fee may apply.

Video Return Policy
If unopened and within thirty days from date of purchase, videotapes may be returned for full credit minus shipping costs and 15% restocking fee. Defective tapes may be exchanged or returned for full credit within thirty days from date of purchase. Videotapes cannot be returned if the shrink-wrap is removed, unless defective, nor after thirty days from original purchase date.

Copyright and Trademark Notice

All text, images, graphics, user interfaces, music, videos, photographs, trademarks, logos, artwork and other content on the Site (collectively, "Content"), including but not limited to the design, selection, arrangement, and coordination of such Content on the Site is owned or licensed by or to, and is protected by copyright, trade dress, and trademark laws, and various other intellectual property rights laws. Herald House operates a Bookstore as part of the museum located in the main lobby of the Community of Christ Temple in Independence, Missouri. Please visit us when you are in the area.

The store closes daily at 1:00 p.m. Central Time in order to observe the Prayer for Peace., reopening at 1:20 p.m. each day.

The Temple Bookstore is closed on Martin Luther King Day, President's Day, Good Friday and Easter Sunday, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day (and the day following), and December 22 through January 2.


Submitting items to the Herald
News items and images for the Herald can be submitted electronically to Text is most easily received in Microsoft Word, and images can be sent as either JPEG or TIF attachments. Digital images for magazine quality reproduction need to scanned at a minimum of 266 DPI; digital cameras with a capacity of at least three megapixels are needed to provide images of adequate resolution.
How to use the e-Herald?
Once your request for an e-Herald subscription has been processed you will receive a confirmation email. It will contain your password. Keep this password safe because you will need it each time you access your e-Herald.

You will need Acrobat Reader 5.0 or newer to view your subscription. If you don’t already have it loaded on your computer please go to and download it free of charge.

Go to the e-Herald page at and select the issue you would like to view. When asked, enter the email address that you used to establish your account and the password provided in your confirmation email. The e-Herald will then download automatically.

If you cannot remember your password select the “Forgot” button on the login page and your password will be sent to the email address associated with your account.

e-Herald files are fairly large, some 8mb or more. They may take several minutes to download. Once you download the file you can save it to your local computer by selecting the disk icon in the Adobe Reader tool bar.

We send an e-mail notification each month to let you know that the new issue of the e-Herald is available. You don't have to wait for this notification to access the e-Herald; e-Herald access is available any time. If you are not getting the montly notfications, please check your account settings and make sure that the e-mail address associated with your account is current and correct and that the "include me in mailings" box is checked.
