June 2009 Herald The Atlanta North congregation in Milton, Georgia, is partnering with first-responders in a unique community-outreach ministry. President Stephen M. Veazey provides added insight in a follow-up interview to his April 5 address, "A Defining Moment" (part two of this interview will appear in July). President Veazey also presents this month's feature commentary, "God Is Calling for a Prophetic People," based on Doctrine and Covenants 163:11a. Five testimonies representing different perspectives related to the Conditions of Church Membership discernment are offered. The lead news story is a report of the 130 young adults who shared their thoughts with the First Presidency after President Veazey's Temple address. Also, the Expanded World Church Leadership Council examines standards of conduct for ministers and members of Community of Christ, and Apostle Leonard Young outlines what comes next following the successful designated-giving initiative, "Place of Peace: From Russia to Ukraine."

May 2009 e-Herald: President Stephen M. Veazey's address to the church, "A Defining Moment," is presented in full this month. He spoke about the many side issues that could distract Community of Christ from "what matters most": proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ and promoting communities of joy, hope, love, and peace. The Council Bluffs, Iowa, congregation lives out its mission through an after-school reading and peacemaking program coordinated with an elementary school. A Missouri pastor and one of his congregation's newest members share their unique journey leading to baptism. Exciting news from the Southern USA Mission Field is shared by Apostle Linda Booth and Senior President of Seventy Bob Kyser. This year's recipient of the Community of Christ International Peace Award is 29-year-old Halima Bashir, a medical doctor who has dedicated her life to help rural villagers in Darfur, Africa. She will receive the award this October at the annual Peace Colloquy: "Justice for Women, Dignity for All."

April 2009 e-Herald Barbara Howard, retired Herald House editor, offers this month's feature commentary, "Be Vulnerable to Grace," based on Doctrine and Covenants Section 163:10. World Church minister Bruce Darrington reflects on the importance of Good Friday and Easter, particularly during times of major financial uncertainty, in his feature article "Good News!"
